Heli-skiing – Is the ultimate in skiing for someone who can
ski or snowboard deep powder. I have
been very fortunate to have been able to heli-ski for nine years in Alaska with
Points North Heli Adventures. Some of
the heli runs in Alaska can be 2,000 to 3,000 vertical feet. A couple are close to 4,000. My first heli trip was in British Columbia in
the Carriboos. Make sure you know how to
ride or ski deep steep powder. Alaska is
not the place to learn. I suggest you
initially try some snowcat skiing first.
Powder Mountain in Utah has some nice snowcat skiing. After you purchase your daily ticket you can
purchase snowcat rides for $18.00 each.
