Heli-Skiing

On Bill's last night after 11 years and over 800 heli runs at Points North Heli Adventures in Cordova, Alaksa,

owners Kevin and Jessica Quinn and the heli guides and staff surprised Bill with this booklet.  They each wrote a note to him and one even did a caricature of him on his monoski and the flags from his Balboa Ski Club out of Newport Beach, California.  The also had him do a SHOTGUN with them in the kitchen before the meal.  It was great times.

Heli-skiing – Is the ultimate in skiing for someone who can ski or snowboard deep powder.  I have been very fortunate to have been able to heli-ski for nine years in Alaska with Points North Heli Adventures.  Some of the heli runs in Alaska can be 2,000 to 3,000 vertical feet.  A couple are close to 4,000.  My first heli trip was in British Columbia in the Carriboos.  Make sure you know how to ride or ski deep steep powder.  Alaska is not the place to learn.  I suggest you initially try some snowcat skiing first.  Powder Mountain in Utah has some nice snowcat skiing.  After you purchase your daily ticket you can purchase snowcat rides for $18.00 each.
