Golden Eagles

Golden Eagles – They are the largest bird of prey in North America. They can dive at speeds of up to 150 mph. They feed on fish, rabbits, ground squirrels, reptiles, birds, foxes, dogs, cats and carrion. They do not eat carrion while feeding their young. They have a wing span of 5 to 7.5 feet. They are monogamous and control an area of up to 6 miles square but it may be larger. These golden eaglets were photographed in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I used a 500mm Canon lens.
