Deer

The deer family includes, elk, moose, caribou, white tail, black tail and mule deer. They are members of the order Artiodactyle. This means they have hoofs with an even number of toes. The males have antlers which have a sensitive tissue on the outside called velvet. This sheds when the antlers are fully grown. The buck with the velvet was photographed in Utah. The doe and her fawn were photographed in Wyoming.
